located in Naples, Italy, is still awiting full redevelopment since its decommissioning in 1992. At the hapex of its growth in the 70's, it reached an area of 2'000'000 square meters with more than 8'000 employees. Now, it lies in a state of total abandonment. Over three decades, several recovery projects have been funded without, however, giving back to the city the gigantic part occupied by the old plant. From that year, Naoshima has become one of the most peculiar art project not only in Japan, scattering unique installations, small galleries and internationally relevant museums all over the archipelago. On the island, often referred as "Ando Island", since a wide amount of works were designed by the world famous architect Tadao Ando, pieces by Andy Warhol, Claude Monet and Yayoi Kusama are exposed, oftentimes in a nature-connected scenario, which makes them truly suggestive. Even if Naoshima's population barely reaches 3'000 inhabitants, the small island attracts more than 800'000 tourists every year. with my attendance at CFP Bauer School Visual Arts.Here below the afterword of the still unpublished work. “This last year has been a hurricane, still ongoing. Sometimes, most of the time, I feel swallowed. Or rather, it's just a desire, a concrete will. Other times, instead, it's like a spinning top, which at the maximum of its speed leaves for unknown and distant places, taking me with it. So I get lost and experience a filtered, incoherent reality. It’s not me who chooses, it's not me who lives, I'm not present, I'm not happy. I see my sea almost vanishing on the horizon in the glow of the gulf. Here reality is not filtered. It is as it appears. I feel far away. I see my figure through that of my friends, without false appearances. I feel far away. I feel the warm ceiling and clear sky of my house. The floors are segmented and clear-cut, almost as if they don't want to mix with each other. I feel far away. I remember long walks, reality was as it appeared. Now, however, I am no longer satisfied. I have to go further. I feel far away. And perhaps the distance I feel is also non-presence. airplanes enthusiast, at Superattico in Milan, in 2022.Domestic Flight investigates the Technical/Domestic intersection intrinsic to the experience of flight. The exhibition unveils the high altitude geography oscillating between the hypernormed hardware of the flying machine and the simulated domesticity recreated in its interiors.The flight is thus presented as a congested architecture where we can observe the overlap between exasperated domesticity reduced to mere ritual and normative and prescriptive technical protocols.
